A program to give our unborn babies the best start to life, gets underway this week at Hangarau Marae from February 28th to March 2nd.
Ūkaipo is run by the Western Bay Of Plenty Primary Health Organisation and is a three day wānanga for hāpu māma who smoke, to become smokefree.
This is the second time this program has been delivered in locally. Ūkaipo coordinator Tiana Bennett says ‘they will aim to hold two each year at different marae around Tauranga”.
Ūkaipo is free to any hapu māma who want to become smokefree for the benefit of themselves and their pēpi. For more information contact Tiana Bennett on 577 3191.
